Fun time at Cinque Terre

I had a great time in Cinque Terre along the Mediterranean Coast. I first saw Vernazza with its Doria Castle. We then saw Monterosso al Mare. Riomaggiore was next. The beautiful Manarola was the last stop. We skipped over Corniglia, which was initially occupied by the Romans. This was an excellent day in Cinque Terre.

Vernazza has many things to see. On the train going from La Spezia to Levanto, it is the 4th stop. It produces lemons, grapes, and wine. There is also a great beach in Vernazza. The bell tower was very tall.

2nd Stop: 5th Village Monterosso al Mare

Dessert

The Monterosso al Mare is the 5th stop from Levanto. We ate seafood in this city. Some of the seafood included fried fish and squid! The city is close to the sea, and not on cliffs like other fishing villages.

Riomaggiore is the first stop from La Spezia. It is known the most for its wine. Its location in a valley means it is easier to go beside the sea than to go back. The Via dell’Amore connects Riomaggiore to Manarola.

4th Stop: 2nd Village - Manarola

Manarola is the second stop from La Spezia. This may be the oldest village, as part of it was dated to 1338. It is often said that Manarola is the most beautiful of the Cinque Terre villages. We saw all of Manarola from a trail.

This was a fabulous experience in Cinque Terre. The Doria Castle in Vernazza was built to watch over the area in case pirates attacked. We also saw the Monterosso al Mare and Riomaggiore. Manarola is famous for its scenery. Corniglia is unique among the 5 fishing villages for being up on the cliff, not beside the sea. I wish I could have spent more time in these places.
