The Duomo di Milano is the third largest church in the whole world. At its top is the Gold Madonna. The Duomo took a long time to build. After the first stone was set in 1386, the last gate was commissioned in 1965. There are thousands of statues all over the Duomo, and some too high up to see from the ground. The Duomo was constructed in Gothic style, despite Gothic style not being the most popular style of the period.

The Galleria Vittoria Emanuele II is known for all the shops lining the walls. They are mostly restaurants and fashion stores. The roof is especially famous, but it is made of iron and glass, so it shatters easily. The roof was repaired too many times to count because of its tendency to easily break. On one of the coat of arms on the floor, there is a bull, said to bring good luck to you if you spin around with your heel on its urinal.

The tour of Milan contained a ton of new and interesting information. I learned about the San Bernardino alle Ossa. This church was decorated with bones! During the tour, I also ate food from Luini. Luini is famous for its panzerotti, which was scrumptious. I had a fantastic time learning about San Nazaro in Brolo. The University of Milan used to be a hospital. The Basilica of Santo Stefano Maggiore was very nice with a bone chapel at its side. The Merchants Square and the Business Square are the true center of Milan.
This time I spent in Milan was fabulous. The Milan Duomo has a fascinating history. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II has many shops. The tour of Milan was amazing. This was an awesome day in Milan.
