Italy Day 5 - Milan Day 1 Part 2 by Aaron, Sforza Castle 斯福尔扎城堡

Sforza Castle

~ Aaron

Sforza Castle was very fun. It has an interesting history. We saw many exhibits in the Sforza Castle, including a work by Michelangelo. I had a great time in the castle.

The history of the Sforza Castle goes back a long time. The first construction of the castle began in the 1350s, but it was rebuilt many times over the years as the ownership changed. Currently, the city of Milan owns the castle. The design is like a rectangle, with towers rising up high. The walls also go up fairly high.

Inside the walls are many exhibits, collected by the owners of the castles. There is a musical instrument exhibit, woodwork exhibit, glass exhibit, and many more! The most famous exhibit however, is likely the Rondanini Pieta, made by Michelangelo. It was perhaps the last work he did in his life, and it no longer seems to be in the Renaissance style. It has been in the castle for about 60 years by now.

The Sforza Castle has many wonderful things. The castle itself is fascinating. The exhibits were very exciting. I loved the time I spent in the Sforza Castle.
