Macau was an amazing place. The entire history of Macau is fun to learn
about. While we were at Macau, we just happened to catch the 2017 Macau Grand
Prix. There is great food in Macau. The Ruins of St. Paul’s have lots of
history. This was an excellent day.

The history of Macau is wonderful. It was initially a Chinese territory,
but was leased to the Portuguese. It was a very important trading port with the
Portuguese and the Chinese. In 1999, Macau was returned to China. However,
there are still reminders that Macau was once Portuguese territory.

The food from Macau is unique to it, and consists of a blend of southern
Chinese and Portuguese food, with influences from Southeast Asia. Many unique
dishes resulted from the spice blends that the wives of Portuguese sailors used
in an attempt to remake European dishes. Its ingredients and seasonings include
those from all over Europe and Asia. Typically, Macanese food is seasoned with
various spices including turmeric, coconut milk, and cinnamon, giving it
special aromas and tastes. Some popular Macau dishes include pork chop bun,
ginger milk, egg tarts, and durian paste.

The Ruins of St. Paul's are the ruins of a 17th-century building in Macau.
It includes what was originally St. Paul's College and the Church of St. Paul.
Today, the ruins are one of Macau's best known landmarks. They are often
mentioned as a former cathedral, but that is a status it never had. There
is also a large fort near it. It has large cannons, and under it is a museum
about the fort with lots of information.

The Macau Grand Prix started in 1954, but only became an actual race in 1960.
The race itself was made of a qualification race and a finals race. The drivers
were very fast, all at over 140 miles per hour. It was open to any Formula 3
championships. In the end, the winner won only because the lead cars crashed
into a barrier. We were lucky to catch the famous race in town. The whole Fisherman's Wharf decorated by race cars.
Macau was awesome. The history of Macau is intriguing. The 2017 Macau Grand
Prix was very exciting. The food in Macau is very special. The Ruins of St.
Paul’s are now just a stone wall and the base, which is only a slight section
of the initial complex. I wish I could go through this day again!
