Guilin was an excellent place. I visited the Elephant Trunk Hill. The Sun and Moon Pagodas towered over most of Guilin, and the 2 Rivers and 4 Lakes scenic area was very nice. The Guilin Zhengyang Pedestrian Street had lots of good food. This was an amazing day in Guilin.

The Elephant Trunk Hill is a very awesome place. It is the symbol for the city of Guilin. Its name comes from the fact it looks like an elephant drinking water. The part right under the elephant’s “trunk” is known as Water Moon Cave because the reflection of the moon can be seen through the arch, giving it a surreal look. Although the cave itself is not very large, there are many poems carved in the hill and a story about the hill. The story says the hill was once a God Elephant who was the ride of the Emperor of Heaven. It was separated from the Emperor and stranded in Guilin. It fell in love with the scenery, so decided to stay there, and it eventually became the Elephant Trunk Hill.

Sun Moon Pagodas are another landmark of Guilin. They stand in one of the lakes that makes up the 2 Rivers and 4 Lakes scenic area. The pagodas are also known as the Gold and Silver Pagodas because of their colors at night. They are some of the most beautiful scenery around the Sun and Moon Pagoda area. The 2 Rivers and 4 Lakes scenic area is named for some of its features. The scenic area does indeed have 2 rivers and 4 lakes. The lakes are named for the trees surrounding them. For example, the lake surrounded with banyan trees is named for them, and so is the lake surrounded with cedar trees.

The Guilin Zhengyang Pedestrian Street was right next to the Guilin Central Square. This road is about 666 meters long, and is surrounded by all sorts of shops. Many people visit this street daily. It is very easy to get to the actual street, because of a nearby bus stop and taxi stop. No vehicles are allowed on the pedestrian street, so the street is a very safe environment.

Guilin was very wonderful. The Elephant Trunk Hill is perhaps the most important thing in Guilin. Sun Moon pagodas and the surrounding area were all very pretty. The Guilin Zhengyang Pedestrian Street was fantastic. This was a very awesome day.
