Haikou Arcaded Streets

Hai Kou was nice, and it has a lot of history. Hai Kou means Sea Port, but it barely served as a sea port for 40 years. Hai Kou Arcaded Streets has a history of more than 700 years.

Haikou Arcaded Streets contain the oldest buildings in town. The houses are a mixture of different cultures such as Portuguese and French. The streets used to be divided into different areas. It was fun to walk through the Arcaded Streets, tried variety of local food.

We walked down a lot of streets, and ate a special dessert, Ching bo leung. I also liked drinking the fresh coconut juice from the coconuts. You drink it by going and stick a straw right into the coconut after you cut off the hard skin. The huge coconut is less than $1 each, much cheaper than in Sanya.

Hai Kou Arcaded Streets has a large amount of history and is also very interesting. Haikou has many food specialties.
