dino fossils |
At Nanjing Museum , we saw dinosaur fossils and dino eggs! The eggs and the skeletons were well preserved. There even were fossils from the Ice Age like mammoths, prehistoric moose, and ancient rhinos. We saw rare fossilized crinoid plants!

ancient wall |
We saw pottery from the Ice Age to the ancient Chinese civilization. We saw some graves (probably from the Ice Age). We saw some cool clay figures but they were only candle holders. We saw some metal things in a grave and metal instruments and metal pots. We also saw bronze daggers and arrowheads. There were also dagger axes and spearheads. There were some pottery Chinese legendary creatures. There were also some golden jewelry.

Qing Dynasty Emperor Qianlong
Hunting Scene Revolving Vase |
There is a really amazing vase, the Qing Emperor Qianlong Hunting Scene Revolving Vase (清乾隆帝行围图转旋瓶). There are two layers, one inner layer and an outer layer. When the inner layer spins, it shows the hunting scene. There are only 11 Revolving Vases in the world. It’s the biggest and most valuable one. The museum has lots of interesting things.
Gordon:
Nanjing Museum was interesting. Dinosaur eggs are as big as humans feet piled in one line. There were stone carving too. They were pretty.
|
Chinese piano cans (编钟) |
We saw ancient Chinese piano cans (编钟). They use hammer to bang sound. The sounds are different.
|
stone tomb |
There were gold carvings too. There was a stone tomb. It seems like no way in. There was a secret door! But it was locked.
|
colored china from Tang Dynasty |
There was a colorful camel made out of china from Tang Dynasty. Next, we went to legendary animals, part man, part fish; snake; and dragon. There were hard pillows. Scientists believe that only dead people use them. BEST MUSEUM EVER!
