Shanghai - Day 2
Shanghai Laoshan Hostel, Suzhou Museum, Pingjiang Road

High speed train

High speed train
The high speed train was the way we chose to get to Suzhou. From Shanghai, it only took 20 minutes. Isn't that amazing fast? At Suzhou, there are a lot of fun things. The places we visited were Suzhou museum and Ping Jiang Road.

Vase from Qing Dynasty

Dragon plate

Suzhou museum is very good. They kept many precious items from ancient Suzhou, kingdom Wu. There are about 30,000 unearthed things like paintings and calligraphy from Ming and Qing Dynasty. We saw a pretty vase from Qing Dynasty. One of the Suzhou's talents is sewing. On this picture of the group of horses with a few bundles of flowers, is it drawn? No, it's a picture someone sewed on a cloth. You can't see where the needle starts and ends. On the back of the sewn picture looks identical to the front. This was my lucky day because it rained. Why? The view  from their windows. When you look outside, it looks like a traditional Chinese water painting. There are also other windows. Each window gives you a different view. The design of the windows are pretty cool.

The Humble Administrator Garden entrance
拙政园
The Humble Administrator Garden is located right beside Suzhou Museum.  It was first built almost nine hundred years ago during Shaoxing Period. It is one of the most famous garden in Suzhou. Unfortunately, it was raining and we cannot go in because the garden was closed. All the time we went to Suzhou, we skipped this garden. Hopefully we will pay a visit next time.

Bread with
seasoned vegetables

Ping Jiang Road
We walked to Ping Jiang road after visiting the museum. It is a street close to the Grand Canal and full of delicacies and shops. We ate a piece of bread that has seasoned vegetables inside. It was so yummy that we bought a second one. We also had fried stinky tofu. When you smell it, it has a stinky odor but when you eat it, it's very scrumptious. When you eat it many times, you might not think it's stinky at all. There were some steam buns that shaped like little baby animals. The street was built along the Grand Canal. See if you are lucky enough to see a boat! My stomach thinks, "Ping Jiang Road is so good!"

Suzhou is a nice place to visit for a vacation. You can go to the museum if you love to learn many things about ancient Suzhou. Don't forget to take some cool pictures from the windows! You also can buy and get anything you want for your tummy at Ping Jiang Road. Look at how much fun there can be in one day!
