Suzhou was an interesting place for its museum and Pingjiang Road. The new Suzhou museum was completed beside the Prince Zhong Manson (忠王府) in October 2006. It is supposed to be the last design by the famous architect I. M. Pei (贝聿铭), so it became a monumental building. The Pingjiang Road is full of delicious food and right beside the Grand Canal.

The Suzhou Museum is famous for the relics, paintings, calligraphy, seals, ancient arts, and crafts of ancient Suzhou. These treasures have stories of landscapes, people, life, and history. The main exhibition contains several sections about ancient Wu (吴) artifacts. This museum has the characteristics of a Suzhou style garden and also a modern art design. Do you know why even the windows are famous? The view from most windows looks like a traditional  black and white Chinese brush painting, because the wall plaster is white in contrast to the gray tiles. There is an amazing artwork about a picture of a group of horses with wavy manes that looks alive. It is called Suzhou embroidery. Suzhou embroidery has a history of over 2,000 years. Suzhou embroidery artists are able to use needlework and many different types of threads to make detailed flowers, birds, animals and even gardens on a piece of cloth. This museum’s overall collection is larger than most museums. The Suzhou Museum is extremely wonderful because of the many artifacts and its structure.

Shaped buns
Pingjiang Road has many types of tasty foods. We loved a flat piece of bread with some veggies inside. Another delicious dish was fried stinky tofu inside a soup. One thing that I wanted to eat was the shaped buns (we ate them last time, so we didn’t eat it again). Pingjiang Road is full of scrumptious things.

Suzhou has many excellent places to visit like museums and streets full of food. The Suzhou Museum is so popular that many people donate actual books from ancient China for it. The Pingjiang Road is a hot tourist attraction with flavorful food.
