The Bridalveil Fall |
Yosemite is fun. It is full of beaches, hiking places, water falls and landmarks. Yosemite also has things no other places have. There are giant stones that have no cracks. These giant stones can be seen anywhere!

Al Capitan |
Yosemite has a lot of granite. The most famous part, the Half Dome, stays the same for more than thousands of years. There are many view points of Half dome along the way. So we can see different faces of the Half Dome. Yet it is very dangerous because some people died while conquering the piece of slippery granite. Many people think it's weird that it does not have trees. It isn't too high for trees. The whole mountain is a whole giant piece of granite. It doesn't have any cracks for trees to grow.

Rest on a rock |
Sometimes it gets hot, so why not go to the river and have some fun? Playing with the water is just right for a hot day cooling down. Everyone wants to have a drink of the clean and cold water. It's okay to take a gulp of Yosemite's water. The water is as cold as ice. It is melted ice and snow from the mountain tops. Such a relief for a hot summer day!
The Upper Fall and the Lower Fall |
Yosemite has a lot of falls, so don't be surprised if it has the famous falls called Upper Fall and Lower Fall. They are very high and tremendous. It is from 2,425 feet high mountain top. They are actually 2 parts of the falls.
Deer close to our campsite |
Some times there are bears or elk. Be quiet, you may hear them from far away. We lived at the Upper Pine Campground. We had a good campfire and good marshmallows.

Reached top of Nevada Fall |
The second day in Yosemite, we visited a museum at the Happy Isles. We saw that at least one car every year has been broken by black bear. We hiked to Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall. It was very tiring. The Nevada Fall is probably called Nevada Fall because it feels like you walked a long way to Nevada. That is a pretty long distance!

Early morning exercises: take off the shoes, cross the river of the Lower Pool of the Mirror Lake |
On the early morning of the third day, we went to Mirror lake. You know why it is called Mirror Lake? Mirror Lake's water does not move. That makes it look like a mirror. It is really just a pond. But unlike others, it doesn't have any salt. Normally a salt lake has a better reflection.
