London was really great, but day one was really amazing. All the fun I had in the first day made me like learning new things. It was  just so amazing. London day one had so many exciting things. Bridges, museums, palaces, there's almost everything in day one!

The goal is to have fun! So we get to walk all the way to Tower Bridge to start our wonderful day. Tower Bridge may seem ordinary wood bridge, but close up, it's actually steel! Can you believe it takes 20,000 liters of paint just to paint the bridge once. Isn't that just so fascinating? They used 14,000 tons of iron and steel, 35,000 Cubic feet of stone, and 31,000,000 bricks in all! The rules are that the ship must be 9 meters or higher. The bridge opens for free, just let the people monitoring know 24 hours ahead before the ship is coming.

Now, we go to its neighbor, the Tower of London. The Tower of London is just so cool because it was once burnt down. The old remains are in a small pit. The thing up right is not an original. We took a walk around the Tower of London. The original was damaged in the Great Fire of London in 1666. There is a small pit of the burnt remains of the old tower built in 1080s by William the Conqueror. But there were still many changes. There was a moat added and then it was gotten rid of, and gun platforms were also added. In the 1800s, the Tower of London was rebuilt by bricks so it would be stronger. In the 1270s, the King Henry asked for better fortification. Can you believe that the name of the tower changed  a little but always had the words, "The Tower"?

The Monument of the Great
Fire of London
The Monument of the Great Fire of London is really tall and it stands out with the golden top that attracts visitors. It was built 346 years ago, at the time of King Charles II. It was to remember those who died in the Great Fire of London, which was started at Pudding Lane at the King's Bakery. While the family left the fire and were going to sleep, they smelled something weird. When they got up, it was too late because the baking fire got another piece of wood to start burning. As the fire got bigger and bigger, the wind pushed it from house to house, as the entire house. They were trying to destroy houses to stop the fire's fuel, but always, the fire was quicker and it got to the neighbor houses. So many people ran, not a lot of people stayed to fight the fire. The great fire went on for 4 days. The fire killed a lot of people and made thousands homeless. That's why they commemorate the people who died fighting the fire. We climbed all 311 steps and it made us a little dizzy, but the view was amazing.

Bridges can be very fascinating. The very first bridge across Thames River, London Bridge, is full of wonders. Can you believe that it was built in the time Roman ruled(43 A.D.) But, it fell down many times over the past, so the song was formed "London bridge is falling down". Millennium bridge was built in the year of 2000. No cars can go on because it is so spiky. It is a steel suspension bridge. The bridge leads to Tate Modern Art Museum and St. Paul's Cathedral. We even saw both of them from on the bridge! St. Paul's Cathedral had a really big dome. Tate Modern had many famous paintings such as the Pablo Picasso's Weeping Woman. The mother just look so sad and it's hard to find her dead child. The mural shows a woman crying because her baby died thanks to the bombing of the Spanish Civil War.
