Cancun - Day 3 Xplor, Mexico by Gordon

Xplor

The "heart" of the Xplor
Every activity starts and ends here

Put on my helmet
get ready for Xplor
Have you ever went to an extreme adventure park? We did! We went the one and only Xplor. It is an amazing event to see the zip lining people and rafting people. Can you believe that we can drive an amphibious car into the water and into the caves? We can go rafting through mineral water! There are special paddles made of rubber. We can go swimming through the cave of mineral water. At the end of it, we can feel the pressure of the waterfall pounding onto our helmets. The park is even open at night. It is called Xplor Fuego. But if you like zip lining, then don't go there at night. There are less zip lines to open at night. The good thing is that the torches light up the night sky. The torches makes the night beautiful and worth it. The best part of night zip lining is that Tower 7 and Tower 8's line goes right through a square of fire. Worrying about can't take pictures yourself? The park provides a special microchip that activates their special camera's hooked up on the helmet. The pictures look amazing! Many people say that the pictures at night on the zipline are the best! As the first time at the park, we chose the day time round so we couldn't get lost. Also because the day was bright and not scary.

Can you believe that we can go to all the activities or just a few of them! This gives people a chance to skip some activities they don't feel like to go.  The park design is fantastic. Remember the "heart" is where all the activities start and end with. Wear your swimsuit and lock everything else into the lockers.

Driving amphibious car through caves
We departured to the Xplor park at 7:00 am but arrived at 9:30 am. The first thing we did at the park was go to the breakfast cafĂ©. An oatmeal cookie and a milkshake made my stomach feeling good. I tasted their hot cocoa as well.  I would suggest that when you come out of the water, drink their hot cocoa. Why? The water is always not warm, but also not cold. Like always, we started our first journey through the lovely  and quick amphibious vehicle ride. The caves were amazing. Be careful, there was a suspension bridge over a stream. The second driving round was much easier because we had some experience. There was a lot of puddles which got the front seat people wet. Passing through a waterfall is fun. Be prepare to scream when the water all dumped onto your head. My naughty tongue tasted the water from the waterfall. It was very sweet, like the mineral water, not the salty one. The caves are cool and they are very dark. The lights need to be turned on and the speed needs to be slow. Also, do not touch the caves. They are  carved by a lovely force called water erosion. The nature is so great!

My brother and my
very first zip line

Have you ever felt like you were flying through the tree tops? I have. The next thing we did was go zip lining. The zip lining is great. It is the most popular activity out of all the four. It can be scary on the first time, but it will get better. Because I am under 88 pounds, I have to ride with my brother for the most of zip line. Luckily, I was allowed to ride alone for 2 of the speedy zip lines. Yahoo!!! Feel the speed by myself was wonderful!

The hammock ride was another kind of zip line. We carried our own hammock, connected to the zip line, sit on it and relax. Ho, Ho, Ho, I am flying down into the water. At the end, I needed to paddle across the water to the finish line. We just got wet by hammock ride. Time for lunch now.

My yummy lunch

Eating my favorite
noodles
The lunch was great, thanks to the all you can eat part. The lunch was a you pick your own food kind, so every one had their own lunch. I started with the desserts, but later found my favorite thing, the noodles covered in a cheesy and creamy sauce. It makes me hungry now by just thinking about it. I got a lot of noodles. It tasted good. I also ate a few pieces of warm bacon. You will never go wrong with pizza. I got two pieces of pepperoni pizza. I shared one piece with my brother. The pizza was warm and delicious. At the last second, I grabbed a few desserts and nuts along with coconut strips.

Rafting in the cave
After a yummy lunch, it came our third activity, the rafting in the cave. The rafting is amazing. Do you like to go rafting with your own hands? This is better. The park provides hand paddles to go off quickly. There are two routes, one short, one long. The short is 10 min, the other is 25 mins. Paddle left and you go right, paddle right and you go left. There were many beautifully colored fish swim freely in the water. Open your eyes wide, you may spot many kinds of fish, solid colored ones or striped ones.

Finally, there came our last activity of the day, the underground river swim. The life vests were mandatory, so we put them on. I am a good swimmer. I would have preferred to have no life jacket. The water was as clear as crystals, so it was easy to see through the water. Can you guess what was inside all that water? Nothing! They thought that you might accidentally kill a fish in a river so the park didn't put any fish. On the first try, we went to the right, the shortcut. It was so short that as soon as we turned, we hit the end of the journey, a waterfall. The waterfall is natural. It is amazing on how clear the water is.

It was a very peaceful day today. We could relax and build sand castles at the Caribbean beaches. But we chose Xplor to have fun. Think about this. Driving an amphibian car, sliding down through zip lines, rafting a boat and swimming are FUN, FUN, FUN! Every thing at Xplor is the best! Can you believe everything here is natural, the caves, the underground rivers, the waterfalls, the jungle! You can enjoy the cool activities while feeling the power of nature.  Do you love this park? I do. Why don't you come on over at Xplor and enjoy a lovely day? You can do it all on your next adventure!
