The Caribbean Sea
Have you ever went to a really hot place and thought that you love it? I have! Today, I would like to give you a feeling beyond the feeling of good. Matter of fact, mine is the best! Visit the beach to relax and hear the waves crash into one another. The peaceful ride through the Island of the women is all everyone needs to relax and enjoy all of your surroundings. Let's relax and enjoy Mexico.

On the day we went to Mexico, we went from the San Francisco Airport to board! Bart took us to the SFO airport. The plane was quick all the way to Los Angeles. From LA, we got our plane to Mexico at 11:45pm! The flight was overnight and I got a lot of sleep. The next day at 7:00 am. (east coast time zone), we reached Cancun, Mexico. That's 4:00 am in California! We visited many places on that day.

First time on the beach
of Caribbean Sea
First we played a little on a beach. Can you guess where it is? It is along the Caribbean Sea! The wind is really big! It can cause large waves. Our hotel has the private beach of the Caribbean sea. The sand are the best there, so smooth, the so tiny. Perfect material to build sand castle. Isn't that amazing? My brother and I built so many sand castles. They were smoothed out by nature, the waves. The water did not look quite calm.  When we jumped up at each wave to prevent getting wet in the sea, I never did it right and always got water in my mouth. If I do one thing there again, it would be never to get wet by the salty water of the Caribbean. Later, we took a shower in cold water. At least this was not salty. It got us clean and it got rid of a lot of sand. The salt on us, however, was only discovered on our way to the majestic Isla Mujeres.

Beautiful Lagoon side

Starring water of the lagoon

The lagoon was fun from every point. There are sea snakes and alligators so don't go in. It was part of our hotel and so we got to sit down at good seats. We took a lot of amazing pictures about the lagoon's shining surface which is sky blue with the sun's light scattered across it. It looks really beautiful. We got to make small and delicate sand castles. They easily fell against the pounding winds. Since they were small, they were easy to fix. We played at there for a little while before leaving. I love the lagoon side beach with their sand!

Ferry ride to Isla Mujeres
Welcome to the amazing Isla Mujeres which is translated to the Island of the Women. It was named that because the first European explorers to find and step on the island found many Mayan goddesses but no god. If you look closely, there are preserved goddesses for people to see on the island. That's why they named it the Island of the Women. The island is 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) long and 650 meters (2,130 feet) wide. Mayan people inhabited at the east of the island, which is the Caribbean Sea side with a strong surf and rocky coast. A ferry led us to the wonderful island. The ferry ride was wonderful, calm and quick (about 30 minutes). There is a big teddy bear that gently welcomes everyone to the island. To explore the whole island, you can rent a golf cart like us.  We drove all around the island in about 40 minutes or so.

And most of all, learn a lot about Mayan people and how smart they were. It is very cool to try out traditional festival food that Mayan people ate. Imagine it, ancient people's food diet was still carried on till today! Be sure to check out history books and find more about Mexico and even Mayan culture!
